Recently in headlines for his movie The Bengal Files, Vivek Agnihotri has now bagged the rights to tell the tale of Operation Sindoor. The same is India’s mission post the 2025 attacks in Kashmir’s Pahalgham area. Vivek Agnihotri has collaborated with Bhushan Kumar to bring the story forth. Vivek Agnihotri confirms film on Operation Sindoor

Vivek Agnihotri confirmed the movie on Operation Sindoor to Hindustan Times by stating that it is a story that needs to be told. Adapted from Lt Gen KJS ‘Tiny’ Dhillon’s book, Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan, the film will address the events that led up to Operation Sindoor and the strikes that were carried out. It will narrate the timeline from May 6 to May 10, 2025.

“I have always believed in telling stories that are uncomfortable but necessary. My effort is to bring this story of courage, professionalism, and strategic clarity to audiences with authenticity, while also presenting it as an edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience,” Vivek Agnihotri shared, adding that a ground-level research was conducted for the upcoming movie.

Speaking on the yet-to-be-titled movie, the filmmaker shared, “We have conducted ground-level research in collaboration with multiple wings of the Armed Forces to understand not just what happened, but how and why it happened. What emerges is far more complex and precise than what’s available in the public domain.” More details on the project, including the cast, schedule, shoot location are under wraps/yet to be finalized.

The Bengal Files was based on the events of India’s partition with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
