Vivek Agnihotri has been granted Y security with CRPF. The ministry of home affairs gave him Y category of security pan India. The move comes in light of the controversy associated with The Kashmir Files.

Vivek has claimed that he has received death threats over the release of the film. In that light, the filmmaker had also deactivated his Twitter account for a brief period.

The Kashmir Files narrates the tale of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. While talking about the movie with OTTplay exclusively, Vivek had said that the film questions the right to justice.

Prior to the release of The Kashmir Files, Vivek had to appear in court after a Fattwah was issued against his film. In our interview, the filmmaker also accused another filmmaker of trying to sabotage his project .

The Kashmir Files had released in theatres on March 11. The movie has been widely accepted by the audiences and has been surprising one and all with its growing Box Office collections.

More recently, The Kashmir Files even put Akshay Kumar-Sajid Nadiadwala’s Bachchhan Paandey in the spot by reportedly taking more screens than the superstar’s movie. The Vivek Agnihotri directorial has crossed Rs. 100 crore mark (gross) within a week of its release. The movie is expected to make the same amount of net earnings by the end of the day or over the weekend.

More recently, Kangana Ranaut was also given Y security after she also claimed threat to her life. The actress had told a portal that the ‘movie mafia’ had reached her hometown and shot bullets to warn her.

In another news, Kangana and Vivek are likely to join hands for his upcoming project. There is no further clarity on which movie will Kangana be a part of. However, it is unlikely that she joins Vivek’s The Delhi Files, which his wife Pallavi Joshi is already a part of.
