Vivek Agnihotri has replied to Akshay Kumar praising his movie The Kashmir Files. The director called Akshay’s reaction forced and only for the stage. Back when The Kashmir Files released, the audiences refused to accept Akshay’s Bachchhan Paandey in front of it. Akshay too had said that his film did not work because of The Kashmir Files success.

Talking to VJ Raunac, Vivek said that Akshay made the statement in ‘majboori.’ “Woh toh...ab majboori mein kya bolega aadmi jab 100 log saamne khade hoke sawaal puchenge,” the filmmaker shared.

Vivek recalled how he was also in a function in Bhopal when Akshay was asked the question. He said that the actor was asked about The Kashmir Files being a success while Bachchhan Paandey didn’t even work, so Akshay did not have an option but to praise Vivek’s film.

He also shared that Akshay's comment was only limited to the cameras. He claimed that Akshay or anybody else wouldn't praise him in real.

When Vivek and Akshay met in Bhopal, Akshay had said that The Kashmir Files created a wave that brought everyone together. He also took a dig at the situation and said that The Kashmir Files made Bachchhan Paandey a flop.

Vivek had shared the video on his social media account back then. Tagging Akshay, he thanked the actor for the appreciation.

The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi and Mithun Chakraborty among others, is now slated to release on OTT. The film will start streaming on Zee5 from May 13.

Meanwhile, Bachchhan Paandey is currently available on Amazon Prime Video. The movie released on OTT back in April.
