The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri unveiled the Hindi trailer of Nikhil Karthikeya’s upcoming film Karthikeya 2 today. The mystical adventure is the biggest release in the career of the actor, who’s returning to action three years after his previous hit Arjun Suravaram. Karthikeya 2, which hits theatres on August 13, will release in Hindi and all South Indian languages.
The trailer begins with a backstory about a submerged temple town while a priest later asks an elderly woman (Tulasi) to visit Dwaraka to fulfil her wish. Nikhil, who holds a peacock feather in his hand, after a holy dip, lands in Dwaraka. There are a series of mysterious events in the town that not many are able to comprehend. Anupama Parameswaran plays his companion in the journey.
The baddie, played by Adithya Menon, is someone who’ll never leave anything to chance. Anupam Kher, in another scene, claims that Nikhil is the chosen one to accomplish an important task. Nikhil, Anupama, Srinivas Reddy and Viva Harsha join hands to embark on an adventure to find answers to a mystery. Nikhil doesn’t even mind putting his life at risk to save the world and claims he’s a doctor for the same reason.
Karthikeya 2 promises to be an engaging mix of devotion, thrills, adventure, romance and more. The plot, while retaining the core theme of the prequel, is gripping and pulsating. From the ensemble cast to slick edits to surreal cinematography and an intriguing premise, there are enough reasons to make Karthikeya 2, an ideal big screen experience. The dubbing by Nikhil in Hindi is surprisingly authentic.
The film is produced by T Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal under People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts. ZEE Studios has acquired the film completely and is likely to oversee its distribution, satellite and streaming formalities. The satellite rights are with ZEE Telugu and the post-streaming rights are with ZEE5. Kaala Bhairava scores the music and Karthik Gattamneni is the cinematographer.
