Vivek Oberoi will next be seen playing a ruthless police officer named JCP Jayant Gavaskar, who is on a mission to track down kingpin Thalaivan, played by Sunil Shetty, in the web series Dharavi Bank.

The actor says that playing a police officer onscreen took a toll on him physically and emotionally.

Vivek said, "I played this character with great enthusiasm and sincerity. Essaying such a character takes a toll on your mind and heart, because it is so intense. But it is a role that I had to take up."

Set in Asia’s biggest slum, Dharavi, Dharavi Bank is the journey of two characters who are pitted against each other. One is a don, Thalaivan (Suniel), who is admired by everyone in Dharavi, and police officer Jayant Gavaskar (Vivek), who is on a mission to deliver justice.

Telling us more about his character, Vivek said that Jayant is a police officer with honest intentions, but one who will use any means to reach his goal. "It was very interesting for me to play this character. I got to live the part for the entire duration of the show," said the actor.

Vivek added that Jayant Gavaskar is one of those cops who always has his eyes on his target. It is very hard to predict what is going on in his mind. “He is the driver of justice, or, in other words, he is a manipulative police officer who always makes sure that justice is served, no matter the cost," said the actor.

Fans of the actor get to see him in an exciting avatar in his second web series after Inside Edge. Dharavi Bank is directed by Samit Kakkad and also features Sonali Kulkarni, Luke Kenny, Freddy Daruwala and Siddharth Menon. It will be available to stream on MX Player from November 19.
