Malayalam actor Dileep’s first theatrical release post pandemic, Voice of Sathyanathan , is all gearing up for its OTT release this month. The movie, which has already run for over 40 days in theatres, has an ensemble star cast and was also the controversial actor’s bid to cater to the family audience.
The movie apparently has already become a sleeper hit, as per its makers, and is among the select few Malayalam movies that have crossed Rs 10 crore box office revenue this year. Unni Mukundan’s Malikappuram, Soubin Shahir’s Romancham, Fahadh Faasil’s Pachuvum Atbhutha Vilakkum, Tovino Thomas’ 2018, Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha and Shane Nigam’s RDX: Robert Doney Xavier are the others.
When and where to watch Voice of Sathyanathan on OTT?
Initially, there were rumours that the Dileep-starrer would release on Disney+ Hotstar. But now it’s been confirmed that the OTT rights of the family entertainer has been bagged by Manorama Max, which is expected to begin streaming the film in September. The regional OTT platform, which is also available on OTTplay Premium, is yet to confirm a release date, but a September 15 release looks likely.
What is the plot of Voice of Sathyanathan?
The film has Dileep essaying the titular character of Sathyanathan, who is a furniture seller and has a habit of extrapolating the truth. One such incident lands him in a soup, with the authorities mistaking him for threatening the President of India, essayed by Anupam Kher. How he tries to clarify this amid the monumental obstacles in his path, form the plot of the movie.
Apart from Dileep and Anupam Kher, the movie also has Joju George, Veena Nandakumar, Jagapathi Babu and Johny Antony in pivotal roles. The film’s director Raffi had previously teamed up with Dileep for superhits such as Pandippada, Punjabi House and Thenkassipattanam. They are also set to work together in the sequel of Two Countries titled Three Countries, which will be helmed by Shafi and has Raffi as its scriptwriter.
