Vrushabha: Mohanlal looks like a warrior in BTS pics from the set

Mohanlal's cameo in the recently released Rajinikanth film Jailer has received widespread praise. Now adding to it his new look in the upcoming Malayalam Telugu bilingual Vrushabha is also viral on social media. In the picture, Mohanlal can be seen sporting long hair and a beard, making the audience nostalgic about his past characters in Malayalam films like Rajashilpi.

Mohanlal is accompanied by the stunt director Peter Hein who previously worked with the actor in his movies like Pulimurugan and Odiyan. The pictures were taken during the birthday celebration of the stunt director. From the look of Mohanlal, it seems like the makers are shooting flashback sequences of Vrushabha, which is a period-action drama. The actor recently shared videos of his frequent gym sessions in preparation for the action film.

What is Vrushabha about?

Vrushabha is helmed by Nandakishore known for his films like Pogaru, Tiger and Brihaspathi. Along with Mohanlal Vrushabha also stars Bollywood actress Shanaya Kapoor and Zahrah S Khan. Bot the female leads are rumoured to train in martial arts for the film. Roshan Meka, the Telugu actor will essay the son of Mohanlal in this high-octane action drama which delves into the emotional relationship of a father and his son.

Vrushabha's Hollywood connection?

Recently, Nick Thurlow, the executive producer of Hollywood films Moonlight and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri has been roped into Vrushabha. Thurlow will act as the executive producer of the Mohanlal starrer which will be mounted on a large scale.

What's next for Mohanlal?

Meanwhile, Mohanlal's upcoming releases are Malaikottai Vaaliban and Barroz. The actor's debut directorial, Barroz is slated to hit theatres in December after its post-production which has been going on in other countries. Barroz is a children's fantasy film that will be released in 3D worldwide. 

Also, Mohanlal has announced a new project with Jeethu Joseph titled Neru. The film scripted by Drishyam 2 fame Santhi Mayadevi is a courtroom drama bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinemas.
