Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s next big release is Vrusshabha, which is slated to release in theatres on November 6, 2025. But even as fans rue that there is not much buzz for the Nanda Kishore directorial, Mohanlal has promised that a big announcement will be made soon.
Mohanlal’s Vrusshabha
Mohanlal on Thursday took to his social media accounts to inform that a big announcement about Vrusshabha would be made on October 25th. The Thudarum star shared a new poster of Vrusshabha, which notedly features Mohanlal in two avatars.
While one sees the Complete Actor from Malayalam in the modern attire of a businessman, the other features him as a warrior king from the bygone era. A sword separates the two avatars of the actor.
He wrote in the caption “Some stories are meant to be told. Some are destined to roar. Brace yourself for the unheard story of #Vrusshabha. A big announcement drops on 25th October.”
Within minutes of dropping the poster, fans flooded the comments section with many wishing the superstar the best. Vrusshabha, a period fantasy action drama, promises a pan-Indian spectacle. But some netizens were cautious, pointing out that several fantasy action films, which presented themselves as pan-Indian, struggled to impress the audiences in the recent past.
Mohanlal to appear in dual roles
Vrusshabha director Nanda Kishore had earlier revealed that the Empuraan star will appear in dual roles in the film - King Vijayendra Vrusshabha and business tycoon Vishwambhara.
Apart from Mohanlal, the upcoming film also features Samarjit Lankesh, Ragini Dwivedi, and Nayan Sarika. Garuda Ram, Ajay Ravuri, Neha Saxena, and Vinay Varma are also part of the cast. The film, a Malayalam-Telugu bilingual, was first slated to release on October 16 ahead of Deepavali 2025. But the Mohanlal-starrer was later postponed to November 6. Now with Mohanlal’s new announcement, fans are hoping that the makers would release the trailer from the film soon.
Vrusshabha is Mohanlal's fourth release of the year after L2 Empuraan, Thudarum and Hridayapoorvam, all of which emerged as hits. The three films are streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium.
