Vrusshabha new release date: Mohanlal's fantasy film avoids clash with Dileep's Bha Bha Ba

The makers of Mohanlal's upcoming movie, Vrusshabha, dropped an update on its theatrical release today (November 7). It has been announced that the eagerly awaited fantasy drama will open on the big screen on December 25, providing fans of the Malayalam superstar and moviegoers with an exciting treat during the holiday season.

Vrusshabha new release date

The film, which is directed by Kannada filmmaker Nanda Kishore marking his debut in Malayalam-Telugu, was originally scheduled for release on November 6. However, for unclear reasons, it was delayed. The actor himself shared postings about when an update would be available, but later withheld any information, leaving fans disappointed. 

The insider, who spoke to OTTplay under condition of confidentiality, said that Nanda Kishore is working hard to complete the VFX. According to the source, the director does not want to speed up the team into wrapping up with below par visuals."

Additionally, there was talk on social media platforms that the movie will probably be released in 2026. However, the insider said that the production team is still working hard to make sure the movie opens in theatres this year itself. "Vrusshabha will either come before or after the December 18 release of Dileep's film Bha Bha Ba, which features a cameo appearance by Mohanlal," the source continued. In the upcoming days, a trailer is anticipated. Meanwhile, Bha Bha Ba has been confirmed to have a release on December 18.

Mohanlal to play dual roles in Vrusshabha

The fantasy drama has the Thudarum star playing King Vijayendra Vrusshabha, and business tycoon Vishwambhara. Ragini Dwivedi, Samarjit Lankesh, Garuda Ram, Nayan Sarika, Ajay Ravuri, and Ali are among the other lead actors in Vrusshabha. Kannada director Indrajit Lankesh is the father of Samarjit. Sam CS composed the music, and Antony Samson handled the cinematography. Nanda Kishore remarked, "I made the film according to the parameters set by Mohanlal sir and his audience," in an interview with a Malayalam media source.
