Vishwak Sen is clearly in the best phase of his career. He earned praise for all his three releases in 2022 - Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, Ori Devuda and Mukhachitram - and proved his directorial capabilities with action thriller Das Ka Dhamki. While the star’s horror film Boo released on Jio Cinema this week, he is now shooting for his untitled project to be directed by Krishna Chaitanya.
Tentatively titled VS11, the Krishna Chaitanya directorial is a periodic tale, an action entertainer bankrolled by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under one of the most happening banners in Telugu cinema - Sithara Entertainments in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas. The film, which formally commenced with a pooja ceremony earlier this year, went on floors in the recent weeks.
A special look of Vishwak Sen was unveiled today, commemorating NTR’s 100th birth anniversary. In this new poster, Vishwak Sen is in a rugged, intense avatar, lighting up a beedi in the backdrop of a wall poster with a portrait of NTR where the text reads, ‘Johar NTR..Telugodi Athmagouravam (Hail NTR..the embodiment of self-respect among Telugus).
The producer has already hinted that VS11 will be an out-and-out mass film that’ll suit Vishwak’s image as ‘Mass ka Das’. The female lead of the project is yet to be finalised. While Krishna Chaitanya was to direct Sharwanand, Raashi Khanna in a film to be produced by People Media Factory earlier, the project didn’t materialise due to unknown reasons.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has come on board for the music score while the film is presented by Srikara Studios. VS11 is expected to release in late 2023. Sithara Entertainments has another high-profile release coming up - Panja Vaisshnav Tej’s Aadikeshava and is teaming up with Sir director Venky Atluri for a project to be headlined by Dulquer Salmaan.
