Vvan release date locked: Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia are a year away from their epic forest adventure

The highly anticipated release date of Vvan – Force of the Forest has been officially announced by Balaji Telefilms and TVF Motion Pictures. The film, which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, will now be released in theatres on May 15, 2026.

Mysterious and striking poster reveal

An enigmatic and massive poster hinted at the project's scope and mystery when it was unveiled. In the main poster, a verdant, dense forest gently takes the form of a face, its eyes a blazing red, as if some otherworldly being were lurking within. Central to the scene is a towering temple that serves to underscore the film's heroic and mythological tone as a solitary protagonist dashes through the woods brandishing a torch.

Arunabh Kumar and Deepak Kumar Mishra's Vvan is an upcoming thriller that they say would combine elements of Indian folklore, mythology, and mystery. Two big content creators, Balaji Telefilms and TVF Motion Pictures, work together on the film. Producers for the project include Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor (Bebaakee and Fittrat), Arunabh Kumar (TVF Pitchers and The Aam Aadmi Family), and Deepak Mishra.

Casting changes and production delays

Production on the film ran behind schedule, ultimately delaying its debut until 2025. Producers reportedly replaced the original cast, including Sara Ali Khan, and rescheduled the schedule due to Sidharth Malhotra's prior work obligations.The film's female lead, Tamannaah Bhatia, recently made her presence official; however, a motion poster showcasing her character barefoot in a dark forest while lighting a diya garnered attention for its stunning visuals and extensive use of artificial intelligence.

Production on Vvan is supposedly set to commence in the middle of 2025, with significant segments of the film taking place in actual Central Indian forests. Malhotra and Bhatia will reportedly work on their pronunciation and get in shape to fit the film's tough, rural location.
