The makers of Waltair Veerayya have gone out of the way to ensure hype to the Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja starrer amidst intense competition from Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy. The promos and the songs have largely impressed the star’s fans but all the eyes were on the film’s trailer, which was finally launched today. It gives what Chiranjeevi’s fans have been missing from the star’s films lately - comedy, dances, action and romance, all packaged to perfection.

Fittingly, the trailer has resonated with audiences well, clocking a massive million views, merely within 30 minutes into its launch at 6.03 pm today. The dialogues in the trailer are catchy, there’s enough energy in Chiranjeevi’s mannerisms and the fun moments are infused smartly in between the high-voltage action sequenes and the drama. The superb star cast beyond Chiranjeevi, comprising Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, Catherine Tresa, Rajendra Prasad, Bobby Simha, Prakash Raj, has added sheen to the film too.

Despite the homage to Mutha Mestri, Gang Leader, Rowdy Alludu et al, the team has brought out a trendy side to Chiranjeevi in the trailer. The star is Insta-savvy, has the enthusiasm of a teenager in the dance sequences. While it’s obvious that the story may not offer anything beyond the obvious, the trailer promises several strong characters that could pose a challenge to Chiranjeevi’s titular character in the film.

The one-liners like ‘Mass ane padaniki boddu kosi perettindi ayanni susi..’, ‘records lo naa peru undatam kadu..naa peru meede records untayi’, ‘Vizag lo vetagadu ledani oka puli poonakaalatho ooguthondi’ and the role-reversal of the Gharana Mogudu’s ‘side turning icchuko’ dialogue with Ravi Teja and Chiranjeevi stick to your mind long after the trailer. Waltair Veerayya, written, directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, releases on January 13.
