Kho Kho, the 2021 Malayalam language sports drama, written and directed by Rahul Riji Nair, stars actress Rajisha Vijayan as the main protagonist and supported by Mamitha Baiju, Renjit Shekar Nair, Venkitesh VP and others in pivotal roles. The film, which had garnered a TRP of 12.7 points on its television premiere, making it the highest ever for a female-centric Malayalam film, will now be available in Hindi for the viewers globally. The film also won Rajisha the Best Actress Award and a Special Jury Award as a socially-relevant film from the Kerala Film Critics Association. Viewers can enjoy this film on Ultra Movie Parlour YouTube channel from Saturday, October 1, 2022
The film revolves around Maria Francis, a former athlete from Thiruvananthapuram, who missed a chance to be on the national Kho Kho team due to certain circumstances. She then accepts the job of a PT teacher at a girl’s school to bail her family out of a financial crisis.
The game of Kho Kho forms the backdrop of this highly relatable tale of a talented athlete empowering and transferring her spark of desire on to a bunch of giggly and fun-loving teenagers. It narrates how she tries to achieve what she herself couldn’t in her career, by becoming a vicarious inspirational figure to the girls.
Sushilkumar Agrawal, CEO, Ultra Media & Entertainment says,“ Kho Kho is a visually-stimulating film with a strong women-centric theme. It will strike the right chord with the audience. After dubbing and releasing films like Athiran, Irul, Sidhhu and others, Kho Kho is yet another feather in our cap. We constantly look forward to entertaining our universal audience by introducing them to various lesser-known gems from all over the country. In the near future, we will dub films across various languages and genres in Hindi and showcase them on our various platforms.”
