War 2: Siddharth Anand opens up about Hrithik and Tiger starrer sequel; reveals why Deepika said yes to Fighter

Filmmaker Siddharth Anand is currently one of the busiest bees of Bollywood with two larger than life, exciting projects in his line up-- Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie Pathan, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and Fighter, which marks Hrithik Roshan and Deepika’s first film together. Well, there’s another project that fans can look forward to! On the second anniversary of his super hit action entertainer War, the filmmaker announced that he hopes to take the film’s sequel on floors by next year.

War brought Hrithik and Tiger Shroff together on the silver screen for the first time. The action sequences, performances and intriguing storyline left fans in awe. In a chat with Mid Day, Anand was quoted saying, “We knew that if War works, we will make a sequel. [Aditya Chopra, producer] and I have shared some thoughts on how to take it forward. We will hopefully start it by next year. War 2 is a big responsibility, and we need normalcy [to be restored] before we can dive into it.” That’s not all! He also opened up about Fighter.

While he is currently busy with Pathan, Siddharth plans to move on to Fighter early next year. He revealed, “The script, Hrithik and I played a crucial role in Deepika saying yes to the project. It is a director’s dream to have these two actors in a film.” He went on to share that Deepika will be seen doing action in the film, which is centered on the Indian Air Force.
