Ayan Mukerji will direct War 2, featuring two of India's top actors, Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. As per the latest reports, filming for the upcoming film will begin in February of 2024.

Jr. NTR's action-packed introduction in War 2

A source told Mid Day that NTR Jr. is now filming his 30th feature with director Koratala Siva, and after that, he will start his first schedule for War 2. Both Aditya Chopra and Ayan are planning on giving him a huge action introduction in the film. The month-long schedule of filming for the scenes featuring Hrithik and him will begin in February in Mumbai. Before adding the action scenes, the filmmakers will freeze the emotional scenes in time.

Reports also suggest that a South African action director, Spiro Razatos, and an Indian action director are in talks to join the project.

Ayan Mukerji's filming schedule and locations

According to the same source, Ayan wrapped up filming the film's first schedule in Spain last month and will begin filming the film's second schedule in Abu Dhabi in December. While the main cast members are in Spain, stunt doubles may be used to film the scenes in Abu Dhabi, following the same approach used for the Spain leg. Over the course of two weeks, Ayan filmed intense automobile chase scenes in Spain.

Hrithik will reprise his role as RAW agent Major Kabir Dhaliwal in this offering, while Jr. NTR will portray a dark and ruthless character. In the climax of Tiger 3, HR gave a glimpse of himself, indicating his embrace of the darker side in War 2.

The action film, which is the sixth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe, will be Hrithik's next after he wraps Fighter. Siddharth Anand, who directed War, will helm the film, which is set for a January 2024 release.
