Director Richard Clark on War of The Worlds

During an interview with Den of Geek portal in 2020, director Richard Clark stated that the title of the series War of The Worlds was 'unhelpful'.

Instead of focusing on the science-fiction aspects, the TV series paid more attention to the characters and their connections with each other.  According to him, it's better to be bold than to try to please everybody. He further shared that drama should involve, invent, and explore, and not just endlessly repeat the book story itself.

Clark also told Den of Geek that if people feel uneasy with short changes and don’t like it, maybe it was the wrong show for those particular audiences.
