Watch: Ajay Devgn shares new Runway 34 song ‘Mitra Re’ on his birthday

On his birthday, Ajay Devgn shared a new song 'Mitra De' from his upcoming film Runway 34 composed by Jasleen Royal who also lends her voice along with Arijit Singh.

In the film that is inspired by real incidents, Devgn plays Captain Vikrant Khanna, and this track conveys all the feelings and the turmoil he's going through personally and professionally.

The accompanying video features stills from the mysterious yet fateful flight that he embarks on. Nayanthara features in the clip as well as Vikrant's spouse who gives him sound advice about how if someone else was in the cockpit, maybe no one would have made it out alive. 

The video also features courtroom sequences where Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are attending the proceedings. Amitabh Bachchan makes an appearance as a lawyer, though his glimpses in the video are limited. 

"The beauty of 'Mitra Re' is its lilting quality. The song is effective, it doesn’t distract from the screenplay and Arijit’s voice has that haunting quality that gives it repeat value," said Devgn in a statement.

Runway 34 is directed by Devgn and also stars Boman Irani, Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh. 

The aviation drama, earlier titled MayDay, is his third directorial after romantic drama U Me Aur Hum (2008) and actioner Shivaay (2016).
