Watch Diganth and Aindrita in the song Kannadiye, set against the picturesque Malnad region

Kannadiye is the first video song from the upcoming Kannada film Kshamisi Nimma Katheyalli Hanavilla, directed by Vinayaka Kodsara. Composed by Prajwal Pai, who has also sung the song along with Aishwarya Rangarajan, Kannadiye features Diganth and Aindrita Ray together. The film, incidentally reunites the couple onscreen after 8-9 years.

The song, which has been shot in the picturesque Malnad region, has Aindrita play a lawyer representing Diganth, who plays someone from a rural background. In earlier interactions with the media about Kshamisi Nimma Katheyalli Hanavilla, Diganth has been quoted as saying that the film is a dream come true for him. “I’ve always wanted to do a film set in the Malnad region, with a role that encompasses the spoken and body language of people from the area. Kshamisi Nimma Katheyalli Hanavilla has fulfilled that dream. The film has been shot in a small area near Sagara, which is surrounded by water from the Sharavati dam. The region is an absolute beauty and it was a pleasure shooting there. One of the highlights of the film is that it brings Aindrita and me back together onscreen after 8-9 years. It is also our first project together since we got married. She plays a pivotal role in the film and more than me being the hero or Aindrita the heroine, this is a movie in which the story is the hero. It has a wonderful story,” says Diganth.

The actor adds, “When Vinayaka approached me for a narration, he told me that two songs were ready for the film and got me to listen to them. I was bowled over at the first listen and immensely impressed with composer Prajwal Pai’s work. It would not be wrong to say that his music is a major element of this film. Honestly, I took up the film based on the music.”
