You never know what you’re going to get when you invite people from your past to share stories and anecdotes about you. Kapil Sharma found himself in quite a soup when his former drama teacher made an appearance at Netflix’s Kapil Sharma: Fans Ka Hungama, a special event organised by the streaming giant to promote the comedian’s latest standup special titled I'm Not Done Yet.

Kapil’s college professor named Sushma Malik, who taught him drama at the time, made an appearance on the show via video, which caught the comedian by surprise. After the two exchanged pleasantries, the comedian reminisced about his college days, thanking his teacher for granting him opportunities which lead to some memorable moments in his life which he carried even after his success.

The teacher also shared some anecdotes about the comedian from college, talking about Kapil’s talents in singing and mimicry. In addition to talking about the work the comedian and his team had put in to win a prestigious competition, she also shared a hilarious story where Kapil ran towards a group of women for help after seeing a snake.

She also made an amusing remark by rebuking the comedian for ‘flirting’ with celebrities on his shows, saying that it was unbecoming of a man of his age who has a family. Clever as ever, Kapil quipped that he had to do it because the channel demanded it so that their ratings would go up.

The event also featured several fans who had nothing up good things to say of Kapil, talking about how much his comedy meant to them.

Kapil Sharma: I'm Not Done is available to stream on Netflix.
