Sathish Ninasam, who was last seen onscreen in Petromax, is gearing up for his next. Called Matinee, the romantic thriller is the directorial debut of Manohar Kaampalli and pairs him with his Ayogya co-star Rachita Ram. Matinee is a film that Sathish shot for around the same time as Petromax, but it is yet to release. It looks as if the team is now set to bring it to audiences after all, with the first single being released today.

Called Sanje Mele, the melodious romantic number composed by Poornachandra Tejaswi sung beautifully by Vijay Prakash, has the lead pair getting all cutesy at the prospect of some romance while catching a matinee show. The song has been choreographed by Santhosh.

The film, according to Manohar, is called Matinee not only because of the subject he’s tackled, but also because it denotes the “beautiful show” that he’s giving people. The filmmaker has also been quoted as saying that he’s presenting a fun family entertainer that will appeal to all audiences. While the script was not written keeping Sathish in mind, Manohar says that once he felt that the actor would be the right fit, he approached him and to his luck, he agreed to be a part of it.
