Malaika Arora, who’s known for her iconic dance numbers, surely knows how to be the life of a party. The actress, who made her OTT debut with the show Moving in with Malaika on Disney+ Hotstar, got the party started at her beau Arjun Kapoor’s 38th birthday bash. 

A video from Arjun Kapoor’s birthday party held at his residence on Sunday night has been doing the rounds on social media. In the video that has now gone viral, Malaika can be seen flaunting her sexy moves on her iconic song Chaiyya Chaiyya that featured in Mani Ratnam’s 1998 movie Dil Se.

While the original song featured Malaika and Shah Rukh Khan dancing their hearts out on the top of a moving train, not many know that she wasn’t the first choice for the hit number. Reportedly, it was actually Shilpa Shetty who was initially approached to do the song in the film. But as luck would have it, the song eventually fell into Malaika’s lap and the rest, as they say, is history. 

While there have been multiple attempts at recreating the song’s visuals including one with Malaika and Nora Fatehi that featured in Moving in with Malaika, none have managed to match the original, despite it being 25 years since the release of the film.

Meanwhile, those who’re caught unaware, Arjun and Malaika made their relationship official via an Instagram post back in 2019. The couple has been dating for quite a few years now. 

While fans have been wondering whether a second wedding is on the cards for Malaika, the model-turned-actress had told Brides Today that she has thought about taking her relationship with Arjun to the next level. 

Contrary to popular belief that she would be cynical about getting married again, Malaika told the publication that she believes in the institution of marriage. “I believe in the institution, I believe in love and companionship...all of it,” the actress was quoted as saying by the publication in an earlier interview.
