In a surprising turn of events, Bollywood actress Vidya Balan reconnected with her ‘friend from Kerala’ Prithviraj Sukumaran leaving her fans excited. They were seen exchanging pleasantries in the video, more so in Malayalam.

The two recalled working together in Urumi. The film was helmed director Santosh Sivan. Prithviraj recalled shooting for the song ‘Chalanam Chalanam’ during the rainy season. The song also featured Prabhu Dheva.

For the uninitiated, Vidya played a double role during her cameo in the film. She was seen as both Makkum and a teacher named Bhumi.

After reminiscing the time they spent working together, the two talk about Prithviraj’s recent release Cold Case, as Vidya states the actor‘s character is looking for a murderer. She asks him about the genre of the movie, but that remains a mystery.

Prithviraj then talks about Sherni, which is when Vidya asks him to watch the film too. The actress further suggested him to direct the film in Malayalam.

Both Cold Case and Sherni are among the latest releases on Amazon Prime Video.

Interestingly, Urumi is the first and last time when Vidya and Prithviraj shared the same screen. The two, however, maintain that they are good friends, which is also visible in the video shared by the OTT giant.

The movie was a big box office hit in Kerala and released in various languages including Hindi and Tamil. It was also dubbed in Telugu. The Hindi version of the film was called Ek Yodha Shoorveer.

Currently, Urumi can be streamed on MX Player.
