If the audiences in Japan support Prashanth Neel & Co., one could see the run for the podium finish between KGF 2 and RRR gaining a new dimension
Rocking Star Yash might seem slightly evasive at the moment about his upcoming film but he is still definitely done being Rocky Bhai! The actor took to social media (through Hombale Films) to share a rather peculiar message with his fans in the country of Japan. Quite fascinatingly, a part of this video message, or an invitation, as it were, was conveyed in Japanese by Yash, much to the surprise and delight of his fans online.
In essence, Yash's video message can be seen as a 'save the date' announcement for moviegoers in Japan ahead of the release of the two KGF films. KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2 are set to release in Japan on July 14 and considering how conducive the Japanese box office has been for Indian cinema in the past, one expects the KGF movies to yield a great result.
Having emerged as a massive commercial success, the KGF franchise has managed to make Yash one of the most sought-after Indian actors in the business today. KGF 2, in particular, had a thumping theatrical run during which the film managed to collect close to Rs. 1250 crores worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing Indian film at one point.
Interestingly, KGF 2 conceded that spot to S.S. Rajamouli's RRR which is currently the highest-grossing Indian film at the Japanese box office. So, if the audiences in Japan do show similar support to Prashanth Neel & Co., one could see the run for the podium finish between KGF 2 and RRR gaining a new dimension!
On the other hand, Yash's fans are steadily growing restless over the announcement concerning his follow-up film to KGF 2, which is tentatively titled 'KGF 2'. The actor has promised that an update is just around the corner, urging everyone to remain patient because he is putting together something very exciting. If the current speculations are to come true, Geetu Mohandas of Liar's Dice and Moothon fame will be directing Yash next.
