Waves Summit 2025: Kareena Kapoor Khan on why Jab We Met can connect globally - 'Geet has the right to...'

Jab We Met starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor is still one of the fans' favorites. The characters, music, dialogues, everything is just perfect about this movie. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film follows the love story of a business tycoon, Aditya, and a bubbly girl, Geet. During the Waves Summit 2025, Kareena was asked to name one film that everyone should watch and she said it has to be Jab We Met and also shared why the world can connect to the film.

During Waves Summit 2025, Karan Johar asked Kareena Kapoor Khan to name one film that everyone should watch, and without hesitation, the actress said that it has to be Jab We Met. 

Citing a reason, Kareena said, "It embodies us to the spirit of a young Punjabi girl that every girl has that spark, a dream in her eyes. She chose what she wanted, she has the right to feel the love the way she wants. It connected with everyone for a reason, so I am sure it will connect with everyone globally."

Is Jab We Met 2 possible?

During an award show in March 2025, Shahid Kapoor was asked about Jab We Met 2. The actor said that we should ask the filmmaker about the sequel. The Ishq Vishk actor added, "It is a fantastic film and if somebody comes up with the story, then why not? There can always be a part 2."

Meanwhile, Imtiaz told Times Now that there will be no sequels to Jab We Met and also Love Aaj Kal. "I don't know whether I should ever make a sequel, but let's see," he added. 

Jab We Met tells the story of Aditya Kashyap, a businessman who meets the vibrant Geet Dhillon on a train. Their unique love story explores themes of resilience, self-discovery, and finding happiness.

Meanwhile, Bebo was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. The film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
