Web shows, films where Saiyami Kher stood out

Bollywood actress Saiyami Kher has managed to leave a foothold on OTT in the recent past.

Kher also happens to be legendary actress Tanvi Azmi's niece. Paying tribute to her roots in Maharashtrian family, Kher had also worked in Riteish Deshmukh's Mauli.

The actress, who made her debut opposite Harshvardhan Kapoor in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's film Mirzya, has now left her mark on OTT with shows like Breathe: Into The Shadows and Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai.

Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai

Kher plays the role of a bank cashier named Sarita Pillai in Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai. The film, directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap, is based on the 2016 Indian demonetization period.

Pillai, whose family struggles to make ends meet, suddenly finds stacks of unlimited money right inside her house. People's curiosity is at the peak and so, they start suspecting Pillai.

Choked can be streamed on Netflix in India.

Breathe: Into The Shadows

Kher came as a surprise package in Breathe: Into The Shadows. The actress played the role of Shirley, a girl escort. Even in a brief role, she managed to come at par with Abhishek Bachchan's character, J.

The show, like R. Madhavan's original Breathe, was about J (also Dr. Avinash) going on a killing spree. He does so after his daughter Sia's kidnapper asks him to get rid of the people.

Special Ops

Saiyami Kher played one of the five agents hired by Himmat Singh (played by Kay Kay Menon), Juhi Kashyap, in Neeraj Pandey's show Special OPS.

The show, which was initially slated for release on Star Plus, went on to become a huge hit when it released on Disney+Hotstar in 2020.

Special Ops was the story of Himmat Singh hiring five agents to avenge a bomb blast which took place in India.

Unpaused

Kher was seen as Ayesha Hussain in Raj & DK's segment in Unpaused. She played Ahan Awasthi (Gulshan Devaiah)'s girlfriend in the film.

Unpaused comprised of four stories about how COVID-19 pandemic affected every person's life.

Beecham House

Gurinder Chadha's Beecham House is a story based in 1800. A former East India Company soldier John Beecham (Tom Bateman) wishes to start a new life in Delhi, but how long will his dark secrets remain hidden for?

Kher's character Kamlavati suffers a brutal fate in the web show. She, however, plays an important role in taking the story forward.
