The sequel to Wedding Crashers will go on floors this August. According to a report on Production Weekly, the film will mark the return of the ensemble star cast comprising Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams. The prequel was released in 2005 and the sequel will commence shooting this August and release in the second half of 2022 or early 2023.

The talks surrounding a possible sequel to the film escalated during the interviews of the original film's lead cast. Fisher in an interview with Comicbook.com in November 2020 opined that the film certainly merited a sequel and that it had immense potential for humour for a new instalment too. Adding that he loved to essay the part of a bipolar nymphomaniac, he had expressed his eagerness to reunite with the team for a sequel.

Vaughn also in an interview with ET had hinted that the talks for a Wedding Crashers sequel were on and that he was in conversation with his co-actor Owen Wilson and filmmaker David Dobkin for the same.

In another interview with Collider, Vaughn revealed further details about it. Claiming that David Dobkin had a good, contemporary idea that discusses real issues with a pinch of humour. The first film of the franchise had Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson playing Jeremy and John, cast in the roles of divorce mediators who were crashing wedding receptions. The sequel is expected to be an HBO Max release. While waiting for the sequel you can stream Wedding Crashers on Netflix, Disney+Hotstar and Hungama Play.
