About Wedding.con trailer and its short review

This documentary series on true crime provides an intimate look into the lives of five women as they embark on the journey to realize their dream of a happy marriage. However, their quest for the ideal life partner takes a distressing turn when they become victims of financial and emotional exploitation by conmen. These impostors, adopting fake identities and presenting themselves as suitable grooms on online platforms, ultimately leave the women betrayed. The five-part docuseries underscores the importance of raising awareness and taking action against such scams, shedding light on the vulnerability of women who, in their pursuit of companionship, unwittingly become easy targets for deceitful schemes.

Filmmaker Tanuja Chandra’s views on the docuseries

Filmmaker Tanuja Chandra, in a press statement today, expressed how confident she feels about this project. She said, “In India and other South Asian cultures, it's widely believed that marriage is the most significant milestone in a woman's life, and the pressure to 'settle down' keeps mounting as she grows older."

She asserted that Wedding.con is the tale of five women who were victims of matrimonial fraud but are now survivors and have shown tremendous courage in recounting their experience, to expose these scams.
