Welcome 3, titled Welcome Back To The Jungle, sees Suniel Shetty join Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar fans, rejoice! Earlier in the day, producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala confirmed that he has locked in Christmas 2024 for the third installment of his comedy franchise, Welcome, with the title ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. 

While fans of the franchise are yet to sink into the development, another news development has swept in, claiming that Suniel Shetty has joined Akshay Kumar and the rest of the cast in the movie. Not only this, but the pre-production stage of the movie has also begun.

A report published in Pinkvilla today believes, "Suniel Shetty shares a close bond with Firoz Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar, and when the opportunity to be a part of Welcome came his way, he was instantly on board. He is all excited to play a role that has not been explored before in the franchise."

"The team has already locked down some shooting locations and is gearing up to take the film on floors soon," the source added.

"It’s a new character that he will be playing and has nothing to do with Yeda Anna or Shyam from Awara Pagal Deewana and Hera Pheri," the source additionally told Pinkvilla.

About the franchise

Anees Bazmee is the director of the well-known Bollywood comedy films Welcome and Welcome 2. The first movie, Welcome, was released in 2007 and became a huge success at the box office. It revolves around the story of a gangster's sister who falls in love with a simple man and the comedic chaos that ensues. The film features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and Anil Kapoor.

Welcome 2, the sequel, was released in 2015. It continues the story of the first film with new twists and turns. John Abraham played a brand-new character in the movie who adds more humour and excitement. The sequel received mixed reviews but was still appreciated by fans of the original.
