On Saturday, The Kashmir Files team, which included producer Abhishek Agarwal, director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, and actress Pallavi Joshi, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed gratitude for their film.

Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi star in the film, which is about the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990.

On his Twitter account, Abhishek Agarwal posted photos of their meeting with the Prime Minister and stated that it was a joy to meet Shri. Narendra Modi, our Hon'ble Prime Minister. The producer added that what makes it even more wonderful is Modi's admiration for The Kashmir Files and his beautiful thoughts about it. The team has never been more proud of a film we've made. Agarwal ended his tweet by thanking Modi.

This was retweeted by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, who added that he is extremely proud of the producer for having the courage to expose Bharat's most difficult truth. The screenings of The Kashmir Files in the United States demonstrated the world's changing sentiment under Modi's leadership, concluded the director.

On its opening day, the film, which was released in theatres on March 11, earned Rs. 3.55 crores.

Taran Adarsh, the film critic and business analyst, also tweeted the data. Despite its limited release in 630+ theatres, he stated that the film had performed well at the box office.

#TheKashmirFiles springs a BIGGG SURPRISE on Day 11," he tweeted. Adarsh further added that despite its restricted distribution, the film grows in popularity during the day. Evening and nighttime performances are extraordinary, with solid growth on Days 2 and 3 being a foregone conclusion.

Meanwhile, the state of Haryana has proclaimed The Kashmir Files to be tax-free. According to an official notification issued by the Excise and Taxation Department on Friday, the order will be in effect for six months beginning on Saturday.
