Diwali, the luminous festival is at our doorsteps, and everyone is ready to get dressed up for the celebrations. It is a festive mode for the OTTs and big screens as well, as Diwali has always been that time of the year that put an end to the wait of much-anticipated movies.

The 2021 Diwali is going to be a mixed bag, as there are many releases lining up at theatres and OTTs as well. Ranging from the Rajini starrer Annaatthe to the Netflix Originals Meenakshi Sundareshwar.

Here is a list of exciting upcoming you can watch this Diwali weekend:

Jai Bhim: Amazon Prime Video (November 2)

The Suriya-starrer courtroom drama is based on real-life incidents during the 90s in Tamil Nadu. Helmed by T J Gnanavel, the movie will also have Prakash Raj, Rajisha Vijayan, Lijomol Jose and Rao Ramesh playing vital roles.

Sooryavanshi: Theatres (November 5)

Helmed by Rohit Shetty, the most-awaited Akshay Kumar starrer will mark the fourth instalment to Shetty’s Cop Universe, after Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba. Katrina Kaif will be the female lead, while the movie also will feature Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, and Abhimanyu Singh. 

Eternals: Theatres (November 5)

The much expected Marvel Studios' superteam movie is helmed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao. MCU’s unique superteam is previewed as ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years according to the official synopsis.

Meenakshi Sundareshwar: Netflix (November 5)

Vivek Soni’s upcoming rom-com stars Abhimanyu Dassani and Sanya Malhotra as a long-distance married couple. Set in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, the film backed by Karan Johar will explore the dynamics of long-distance relationships, joint families, and much more. 

  1. Love Hard: Netflix (November 5)

The American rom-com directed by Hernan Jimenez is all about a young woman who travels to her online crush, only to find out that she has been catfished. It stars Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O Yang and Darren Barnet.

Annaatthe: Theatres (November 4)

The upcoming action drama of South Superstar Rajinikanth is written and directed by Siva under Kalanithi Maran’s production. The much-awaited Diwali release will be the tale of a brother-sister duo set in a village. Actresses like Keerthi Suresh, Nayanthara and Khushboo will also be appearing in pivotal roles.

Narcos Mexico Season 3: Netflix (November 5)

Exploring the early origins of the Mexican drug war, the crime drama series focuses on the developments of the illegal drug trade in Mexico. Created and produced by Chris Brancato, it features actors like Diego Luna, Michael Pena and Tenoch Huerta.
