SonyLIV releases in February 2022

SonyLIV has become now one of the most popular OTT platforms with many movies, web series, sports, and other content in various languages.In the month of February 2022, the platform is coming up with several movies and web shows including Rocket Boys, #Homecoming and Freedom Fight.

Starring Nishanth, Vijay Sathya and Balaji Rathinam in lead roles, the dark comedy is bankrolled by Vignesh Selvaraj under Head Mediaworks. Auto Chandran, who penned the story for Vetri Maaran's Visaaranai is playing a crucial role in the movie. Fate brings together a cop, a gangster and an aspiring filmmaker, who hail from different places. After the initial misunderstandings and confusions, they form a team and go in search of a unique pig statue and a huge sum of money. 

Date of Release: February 4

Rocket Boys

The story brings to life the true events revolving around two Indian scientists, Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai. Set between 1938 and 1964, the show also has a subplot revolving around former President APJ Abdul Kalam. Rocket Boys features the achievements of these scientists in India’s nuclear energy and space programmes. Directed by Nikhil Advani and created by Siddharth Roy Kapoor.

Freedom Fight

Rajisha Vijayan, Srinda, Kabani, Jeo Baby, Rohini, Joju George, Unni Lalu, Sidhartha Siva form the lead cast of this anthology jointly directed by Jeo Baby, Kunjila Mascillamani, Akhil Anilkumar, Jithin Issac Thomas and Francies Louis. Coming from the makers of The Great Indian Kitchen, the anthology serves as a reminder of how important freedom is in our lives. Music by Rahul Raj, Mathews Pulickan, Basil CJ, Maathan and Arun Vijay.

Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal and Plabita Borthakur play the leads in the musical drama written, directed and produced by Soumyajit Majumdar. The web original revolves around a group of friends from Kolkata and their journey, who reunite 7 years after Durga Puja at an old theatre on the cusp of being converted into a hotel. The friends rekindle several memories associated with the old theatre as they part ways and head out to their own worlds.
