When Alia Bhatt revealed her ambition of winning an award at the Oscars

Alia Bhatt is currently promoting the highly awaited movie Brahmastra which will release in theatres on September 9. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and features Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy.

The actress had once discussed her biggest ambition, accepting an award at the Oscars and making an on-stage statement. She added that unlike many women who anticipate their wedding day, she fantasises about the Oscars.

In an interview with Pinkvilla in 2016, Alia had revealed, "I only think about that one day when I am standing in front of people, receiving an Oscar. What marriage is for most girls, an Oscar is for me."

When she was recently reminded of this statement of hers in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she responded by saying, “Actually, the question was do you dream about the day you get married? I just said I dream about the day that I receive an Oscar. What I will wear for that, how I walk on stage, hopefully I won't fall on stage, give a speech, who all I will thank. All these things.” Alia added, "I think it's genuinely simple because I don't dream of the day I get married. It's not like I have a problem with the institution of marriage but this is my one big dream."

On April 14th of this year, Alia and Ranbir Kapoor got married at his Mumbai residence. Only close relatives and a few of her industry friends attended the two-day wedding. The couple is expecting their first child together.

Alia will also star alongside Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. She is also collaborating in Jee Le Zaraa directed by Farhan Akhtar, starring Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. She'll debut in Hollywood with Heart Of Stone as well.
