When Alia Bhatt told Ranbir Kapoor about the kind of guy she wouldn't marry years before Brahmastra

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are among those couples who worked on one movie together, fell in love and decided to get married. Although they decided to marry each other, it happened years later. The two first met when she was shooting for her third movie in Bollywood, and spoke of a wedding back then. It happened in front of the filmmaker who taps into love in its rawest form, Imtiaz Ali.

Back when shooting for Highway, Ranbir Kapoor got into a Q&A round with Alia Bhatt. The movie featured Alia opposite Randeep Hooda, but Ranbir and Imtiaz had already worked together on Rockstar (available on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium) and were collaborating on another film at the time. During the Q&A round, Ranbir brought up the wedding topic. Much like debated on the recently released Sanya Malhotra's movie Mrs., Ranbir asked Alia would she marry an actor who wouldn't let her work after getting married. Her answer was a prompt no. She said that it is not the woman her man would be looking for if he wants a wife who doesn't work, since she wants to act for as long as she wishes to.

Neetu Kapoor went on a long break after getting married to Rishi Kapoor. She dedicated the longest years of her life dedicated solely to raising Ranbir and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. It was with Rishi and Ranbir only that Neetu tried to make her acting comeback with Besharam. Failing to do so, it eventually happened with JugJugg Jeeyo opposite Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani. Now, Neetu is also back to acting in movies while Alia continues working in Bollywood too.

Although they met on the sets of Highway briefly and later worked together in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, where Alia had a cameo appearance, Ranbir and Alia were never co-stars before Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. That is where their love truly blossomed and the couple decided to get married. Today, they are not only married but parents to internet's favourite child, Raha.
