Missed watching Kiccha Sudeep’s Kotigobba 3 in theatres? Not to worry, the film, directed by Shiva Karthik, which took the Kotigobba franchise ahead with a plotline about The Ghost, is coming to Amazon Prime on November 23.
The film, which was written based on a story peg by Sudeep himself, takes off after the events of the previous film, with ACP Kishore (P Ravi Shankar) still behind bars for allegedly killing Shiva (Sudeep) and Satya now a do-gooder, who runs a home for destitute people. But when a new set of high-stake crimes occur across the globe, piquing the interest of the Interpol, Satya comes under scrutiny, because the perpetrator bears a striking resemblance to him. Now, who could that be?
Kotigobba 3 brought Mollywood import Madonna Sebastian to Kannada cinema, and saw the return of Abhirami too. The film also had Nawab Shah, Aftab Shivdasani and Shraddha Das in pivotal roles. Music by Arjun Janya was a runaway hit, especially Pataki Poriyo, which featured Ashika Ranganath along with Sudeep, in what was her first special number.
Around the time of its release, Kotigobba 3 had suffered a little bit of a setback, when the film did not make it to theatres on October 14, owing to some issues between the producer and the distributors. Amid a lot of hue and cry, scheduled shows were cancelled and theaters were vandalized, sending the makers scrambling to figure out a way to get the film to theatres as soon as possible. Even Sudeep put out an apology note on social media, asking fans not to react badly in theatres as it was no fault of theirs. Eventually, the makers managed to release it a day later.
