Kannada actor-turned-director Suraj Gowda’s debut directorial, Ninna Sanihake, was the first ‘big’ film to release in theatres after the Karnataka government allowed 100% occupancy in early October. The film, which opened to favourable reviews and public opinion, was also the debut vehicle of Dhanya Ramkumar, the granddaughter of late Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar and the daughter of veteran actor Ramkumar.
A breezy romance about live-in relationships, the film had music by Raghu Dixit, with most of the numbers making their presence felt on the charts. Prior to the film’s theatrical release, Suraj had spoken to us, saying, “Audiences are, ultimately, kingmakers. They decide whether my perspective on cinema is what they were looking for. I have tried to tell a nice, breezy family entertainer and I believe that nobody will be disappointed watching this film. We have a lot of things working for us already, like, for instance, the songs; every single one has been appreciated and trended online, including the cover version that I did along with the film’s leading lady, Dhanya (Ramkumar). The trailer, which gave audiences an outline of what we are trying to say with this film has also been appreciated.”
If you missed catching the film in theatres, you can now watch it from the comfort of your home, as Ninna Sanihake is now streaming on Prime Video. Taking to social media to announce the same, Suraj wrote, “Streaming Now! Watch #NinnaSanihake now on @primevideoin and join Adi and Amritha on a romantic journey unlike ever before! ❤️ We’re beyond excited to bring Ninna Sanihake from the big screens to your home after a long wait! Watch now with your loved ones. #NinnaSanihake ಚಿತ್ರದ ಆದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಮೃತರ ರೊಮ್ಯಾಂಟಿಕ್ ಸಿನಿ ಜರ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಇದೀಗ @primevideoin ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಗಾರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ.”
