Kamal Haasan's aura extends well beyond Tamil Nadu and the actor's name has become ubiquitous all over the country in the past few weeks. His latest release, Vikram, has become a massive commercial success and has even warranted a sequel which will soon be in the works. The actor has been touring the entire country to spread the word about his comeback film and one of the pitstops was Bengaluru, where he spoke to a massive crowd about many endearing aspects of the city and the Kannada Film Industry.

In the same vein, Kamal Haasan was asked about the Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar and the memories he shared with the late actor. The 64-year-old actor referred to an old video wherein, during an awards show, he is seen carrying a much younger Puneeth Rajkumar in his arms with the matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar by their side. He also spoke of his recent visit to Appu's residence to pay tribute to the deceased actor and also condole with his family. "I missed both Annavru (Dr. Rajkumar) and the child who has now become the star of the people here. I don't know, life or nature sometimes decides things differently - I am sure that we would have acted together in a movie," said Kamal Haasan at the event.

The Vikram star had previously paid a small tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar while hosting the Tamil version of Bigg Boss. Speaking of the latter's charm and many social endeavors, Kamal Haasan expressed deep regret over the news of his passing. He would visit Appu's residence along with friend and colleague Ramesh Aravind sometime in December to meet with the family and offer condolences to them. Interestingly, both Kamal Haasan and Puneeth Rajkumar had surprised their ardent fans to promote their respective films (Vikram and Yuvarathnaa) and also spread cheer among the public.

At the same promotional event in Bengaluru, Kamal Haasan spoke fondly about his memories attached to Bengaluru. The actor spoke of frequenting the Suchitra Film Society and driving down to the garden city along with filmmaker K. Balachander to watch Puttanna Kanagal's films back in the day. He also brought up the Pushpak days and the time Dr. Rajkumar visited him on the sets.
