Long before he became an actor, Rajkummar Rao got scammed for trying to pursue his passion. The actor was scammed in Delhi, right when he thought he climbed the first step to becoming a successful actor. The actor revealed details of the incident when he came to promote his recently released film Mr. and Mrs. Mahi on The Great Indian Kapil Show. Rajkummar and Janhvi promoted their movie on the Netflix show, which is when he spoke about the incident.

Rajkummar scammed in Delhi

Rajkummar Rao spoke about being scammed in Delhi, when asked the question on The Kapil Sharma Show. Kapil raised the question and the actor confirmed that he was scammed in the National capital. Rajkummar lost Rs. 10,000 in the scam. He was promised an opportunity to be an actor. Rajkummar revealed that for the same, he was told to pay Rs. 10,000 for a photoshoot which took place in Kalindi Kunj Park. This is after he cycled from Gurugram to Delhi’s South Extension and got his mother to borrow the money from others. The actor did not find the scammer even after becoming a successful actor. The whole incident began when Rajkummar found a newspaper clipping about the advertisement. The ad claimed that it was casting for Zee TV. The actor was in the 11th grade, and wanted to pursue it since he dreamt of becoming the next SRK (like most actors). He was even told that he was selected for the role, but when he reached the office three days later, it was empty and locked. The neighbours instead started asking him if he applied to become an actor, and informed him that he was scammed.

About Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’s performance at the Box Office

Although Mr. and Mrs. Mahi worked well on the first day of its release (owing to Cinema Lover’s Day), the movie saw a drop on the second day. After earning Rs. 6.75 crores on day one, the movie minted Rs. 4.50 crores on Saturday. Over the two days, the film earned Rs. 11.25 crores. Given the current situation, it does not look like the film will earn the initially estimated Rs. 20 crores over the weekend.

Srikanth Box Office

Rajkummar’s other movie Srikanth has also released in theatres and is working well at the Box Office. After 21 days, the movie has minted Rs. 41.26 crores.
