Both are talented actors and have worked together in multiple movies, and their rumoured romantic relationship has always been the talk of the tinsel town.
For those of you who are still not able to comprehend, Nagarjuna and Tabu had worked together in two Telugu films: Ninne Pelladatha (1996) and Aavida Maa Aavide (1998). The actors, who had met when they were really young, were rumoured to be ina relationship for over a decade. While they have never spoken about their alleged affair in public, Nagarjuna had once said that Tabu will always remain his ‘beautiful friend’.
In an interview in 2017 with The Times of India, Nagarjuna said that he has nothing to hide as far as tabu is concerned and that his face 'lights up' when Tabu’s name is mentioned.
"Yes, Tabu is a fantastic friend of mine. Our friendship goes way back, since I was 21 or 22 and she was just 16 years old. That’s like almost half a lifetime… About our friendship, whatever is said is less. I have nothing to hide about her. When you mention her name, my face lights up… (laughs). It is as simple as that. Now, when I say things like that, if you want to read into it, then it’s your point of view… To me, she is a beautiful person, and a beautiful friend. She always will be,” he had said when asked about his equation with his former co-star.
Amala, too, had a civil relationship with the award-winning actress. “When there are serious issues like the blasts and the flood affecting Mumbai, are people actually wondering about what Amala's best friend is doing in her home? It’s really saddening. Nobody should bother what happens under my roof. I am happy," Nagarjuna's wife Amala told Mumbai Mirror back in 2006, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Amala had also shared at the time that Tabu used to stay at their place whenever she would visit Hyderabad.
On the work front, Nagarjuna will soon be seen in the Telegu film The Ghost and has a crucial role to play in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, thus marking his big Bollywood comeback after nearly two decades or so.
