Audiences loved the on-screen chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Karan Johar's 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Now, an old interview has resurfaced online, more specifically on Reddit, from a press event during the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Ranbir plays Aishwarya's love interest in the film.

In the video, when talking about what it was like to work with Aishwarya, Ranbir said, "Sharam aati thi; mere haath shiver hote the. Kabhi kabhi main unke gaal ko touch karne main jhijhakta tha (I was very shy; my hands would shiver. Sometimes, I’d feel hesitant to touch her cheek)."

He added that Aishwarya made him feel comfortable by explaining to Ranbir that he was just doing his job, so he should not hesitate.

"Phir maine socha, kabhi aisa mauka milega nahi, so maine bhi mauke pe chauka maar diya (Then, I realised that I would not get such a change again, so I made the most of it)," Ranbir added.

Ranbir has received backlash for using the phrase 'mauke pe chauka'.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the actor later had to clarify, saying, "Aishwarya is a superb actor and also a family friend. She’s one of India’s most talented and respected women. I will be forever grateful to her for her contribution to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. I could not have disrespected her like that."

The film also starred Anushka Sharma, and even though it received mixed reviews from critics, the movie was well received by young audiences.

Ranbir will next be seen in the action film Animal, while Aishwarya is celebrating the success of her latest film, Mani Ratnam's magnum opus PS2.
