On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, Shanvi Srivastava decided to do a quick Instagram live with her fans. Initially, the talking point was her latest music video with Jubin Nautiyal, Meethi Meethi, which came out two days ago, with Shanvi asking fans what they thought of it. She also urged them to make reels with the hook step.

After interacting with a bunch of fans directly on the live session, Shanvi then sent a request to actor Sharad Kelkar, with who she is currently working. Sharad, who was on his way to a shooting location, sportingly joined the live. Shanvi got him to repeat a ‘Ganesha Habbada Hardika Subhashayagalu’ wish, which he did and then said that he’d love to be a part of a Kannada film. Considering that Sharad is introducing Shanvi to Marathi cinema with their collaboration, he said it is only apt that she brings him to Kannada movies. Interestingly, their Marathi film has a Kannada connect. It is the remake of KGF maker Prashant Neel’s debut feature, Ugramm, which had Sriimurali and Hariprriya in the lead. Shanvi has a promise to live up to now.

The actress, who was last seen in the Malayalam film Mahaveeryar, which was her debut in Mollywood, has a Kannada movie ready for release. Called Baang, it has Shanvi playing one of the antagonists in the tale. She is joined by music man Raghu Dixit in the film. At the teaser launch of the film, Shanvi, who plays a gangster, had said, “I liked the script of Baang when Sree Ganesh brought it to me, but I was a bit hesitant to take it up. I don’t look or physically am very strong to pull off a character like this. But as an actor, I needed to satisfy the artiste in me. And I thought that roles like these don’t happen often, so, I had to do it. When I got into the costume of Leona to start shooting, I realized that I had made the right decision. Looking at myself, I was, to a certain extent, satisfied, that I am strong enough to experiment. A lot of people don’t attempt experimentation. I have done it; I don’t know what the results will be like, and I hope audiences will appreciate the effort.”
