Siddarth's next, Takkar, is all set to hit screens tomorrow (June 9). The film, directed by Karthik G Krish, has Divyansha Kaushik as the leading lady. Siddharth is having a film release in Tamil after a long time, and hence, has been aggressively promoting it.

During the promotions and interview to a YouTube channel, Siddharth was taken by surprise, courtesy, a special visitor. The visitor was none other than popular screenwriter Sujatha Rangarajan's wife, Sujatha. Siddharth was talking about his 20-year-career in films, when she paid a visit.

Siddarth immediately fell at her feet, broke into tears and hugged her. Sujatha then said that it was she who had asked her husband to cast Siddharth in Shankar's Boys.

"For some reason, I felt that he would fit the bill. I told my husband to suggest his name to Shankar. However, he said that Siddharth was more interested in becoming a director. Since I had a strong intuition, I told Shankar that his hero was working in Mani Ratnam's office. Siddharth must have been 21 or 22 at that time, but he looked barely 16 or 17 and would have perfectly suited the character."

Siddharth pitched in, "So, Shankar sir called me and asked me. I said that I was working as an assistant director for Mani Ratnam sir and that I wanted to become a director. Shankar sir insisted that I come for a photo shoot. I reluctantly went there. But he liked me and announced that I was the hero of the film."

The Takkar star also recalled the time when he challenged his friends that he would never become an actor. "Even during my drama school days in Delhi, I was trying my hand at everything- writing, direction and acting. My friends would say that I would become an actor but I challenged them saying that I would not."

He added, "If not for her, I would not have had a 20-year acting career. Even today, my parents credit my journey to her."
