Story:

It is a normal day in the life of Sa-eon and Hee-jo. They hate each other but pretend to be married. That is till he gets a phone call about her being kidnapped and is suspicious about it being true. Nothing is the same since.

Review:

Yoo Yeon-seok's Baek Sa-eon is a character that is built strongly right from the start. In front of him, Chae Soo-bin's Hong Hee-jo is powerful but constantly looked down upon. As actors, they both play their roles extremely well. Yeon-seok, in particular, is the highlight of the first episode.

Im Chul-soo's Kang Yeong-woo also plays an important role from the get go and as always, he doesn't disappoint. However, there isn't much to him at this point.

The story develops with the failing marriage, which is more about keeping appearances than actually pushing each other to great heights. Soo-bin's gesture, which is blended with the scene, thus appears a natural reaction - an almost hatred towards her husband.

The kidnapping scene is also one that leaves your stomach in knots every moment. The thrill is at the peak with a masked man being behind it all. Will there be an accident? Or is it just a kidnapping? You are left wondering with every moment.

When the call finally comes, is where the story actually picks up. The heart-thumping in the background is exactly what you feel, that is how much you get engrossed in the scene. Everything that happens after leaves you gasping for air. A stuttering kidnapper adds to the suspense. Needless to say, there's thrill in every moment when it comes to this series. The best part though, is that it is not limited to the thrill. The forces marriage and the hate they share is more evident and in-your-face, leaving you feeling all the hurt.

The episode beautifully rounds things up by taking us to the moment where everything turned wrong - their wedding day. The leads getting back at each other is a scene that is sure to get to you, too.

Verdict:

Get ready for your mind to be blown with the first episode. All the thrill and the revelations are something you barely expected out of this one.

However, there is one thing with expectations - the benchmark is set too high when it is met. Now that the first episode has revealed a lot about the story, can the coming episodes keep up? That is what we will have to wait and see.

The other side of the series is that it treads on a thin line. Everything in the series is contradicting. If touched upon deeply in the same way, it is just a matter of time before people lose interest in this series.
