When will Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu part two come out? Check out what Gautham Menon has to say about the Silambarasan-starrer

Filmmaker-turned-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon, is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming Tamil film titled Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha. While the film is set to hit theatres on March 1, the director gave an update about when the sequel to his 2022 action-drama Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will take place.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu: Part I – The Kindling was Gautham Menon's last directorial to be released in theatres. The film starred Silambarasan in the lead role and the climax of the film revealed that a second part is in the making.

When will VTK 2 come?

Gautham Menon, who is currently promoting Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, recently interacted with the media following the film's event. Incidentally, he was accompanied by producer Ishari Ganesh, who backed Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu and Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha. When asked when could one expect the second part of the Silambrasan-starrer, Gautham said, "VTK part 2.. it is a very controversial question. I will make part two whenever the hero and producer will come again together." The director, however, did not give a solid update on when the film will be kickstarted.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu released in 2023 to positive reception. The film starred Siddhi Idnani, Radhika Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav and Siddique in supporting roles. A gangster drama, the first part showed the rise of Silambrasan’s character from ashes to a don. The second part is expected to concentrate more on the rise and gangster life.

Gautham’s delayed line-up of films

Gautham Menon’s Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is set to release on March 1. The film stars Varun Krishna, Raahei, Yogi Babu, and others. The film has been in the development for quite some time now. Meanwhile, the director's Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam starring Vikram in the lead role has been in the can for a while . The film suffered several production and financial delays and is yet to see the daylight. When asked about the film’s release, Gautham said, “Dhruvam varum (it shall come).”

However, on the acting front, Gautham Menon was last seen in Leo alongside Vijay. He is also part of Vetri Maaran’s duology Viduthalai.
