When ‘Zubeidaa’ Karisma Kapoor reunited with ‘Victor ‘Manoj Bajpayee for a special evening

Whenever anyone mentions the name of the veteran film maker Shyam Benegal, the conversation remains incomplete without the mention of the classic film ‘Zubeidaa’, which he had directed in the year 2001. For the unversed, ‘Zubeidaa’ is one of the finest films ever made in Bollywood. This was one of those films whose script complemented the actors and their respective performances and vice versa. How can anyone forget the lilting music which was composed by the Music Maestro A.R. Rahman! The film starred powerhouses of talents in the form of Karisma Kapoor (in the titular role), the ageless diva Rekha, Manoj Bajpayee, (late) Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Lillete Dubey and Shakti Kapoor in important roles.

Speaking about the starcast, recently, actors Karisma Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee had a reunion of sorts. The two stellar actors attended the ‘Shyam Benegal Retrospective’ event, which was recently held in Mumbai. Karisma Kapoor took to social media and posted the photograph of hers and Manoj Bajpayee, who was her co-star from the film ‘Zubeidaa’. Karisma Kapoor , very aptly, captioned the posted photograph with the words, “When Zubeidaa reunited with Victor for a very special evening”.

As for the attire, Karisma Kapoor looked extremely adorable with her ‘bespectacled’ look. Adding to her vibrancy was her vibrant blue dress, which definitely complemented her personality to a ‘t’. As for Manoj Bajpayee, he chose to keep it simple. He was dressed in a white T-shirt which he chose to pair it with black pants and a denim jacket.

Speaking of Manoj Bajpayee, in a recent interview with Mashable India, he spoke his days of struggle and disheartenment. He had said, "There was frustration that you are not getting work when you know your job. Other than that, it was great that all the friends used to meet often, sit together, read, [and] practise. My whole day was busy. [I used to live] in a chawl with two people, after I came back after six months, I saw that at least 10 people were sleeping there. Tigmanshu Dhulia was one of them. Victor [Vijay Krishna Acharya] who had made ‘Dhoom’ had also spent most of his time there."

On the professional front, Manoj Bajpayee will now be seen in the third season of ‘The Family Man’, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
