In an interview with The New Indian Express, director Ranjith questioned whether recent blockbusters like Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Vijay starrer Leo had any political Whether or not the audience found it enjoyable is all that matters correctness despite collecting crores from across the country. ". Filmmakers such as Syam Pushkaran, Lijo Jose Pellissery, and Dileesh Pothan are not bothered about political correctness in their works. For their work, they act in a way that makes sense to them," he stated.
The director went on to say that if a movie was worth seeing, reviews wouldn't have an impact. “When it comes to choosing what to watch, I would rather trust my friends. Good work would be greatly appreciated by the audience,” he said.
He persisted that only an individual's surroundings and the people in them can have an impact on them; movies cannot influence a person.

His style of work
Ranjith pointed out that his work throughout the years has been influenced by his observations, interests, and instincts. “I wrote and worked whenever it was convenient for me and did not have any burden of expectations upon me from the audience. I did not limit myself to any particular genre,” he added.
He said that the personalities of the characters he penned were also inspired by people he had seen or interacted with in his life.
Working with Mohanlal and Mammootty
The filmmaker acknowledged that while Mammootty is willing to try playing different roles, Mohanlal is content to stick to his comfort zone. "Mammootty immerses himself in a role he selects and does a sufficient amount of homework on his characters. Mohanlal is a convincing actor, and I've been amazed by his acting in a number of movies. However, he is hesitant to step outside of his comfort zone," he said.
Ranjith stated that he is close friends with both actors. "I always have the ideal actor in mind for a character I write. For instance, it was always Mohanlal while writing for Spirit and Mammootty for Pranchiyettan and The Saint,” he claimed.
