The makers of Karthi 27 unveiled the film’s title officially recently, as Meiyazhagan. Besides Karthi, the film also stars actors Arvind Swamy and Sri Divya in prominent roles. The film is directed by Prem Kumar, who made the critically acclaimed 96. While it may take sometime for Meiyazhagan to hit theatres, here is where you can stream the director’s first film.

96 is a 2018 romantic drama starring actors Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles, along with a supporting cast of actors including Gouri Kishan, Aadithya Bhaskar, Bagavathi Perumal, Devadarshini, Aadukalam Murugadoss and others.
The film is about a reunion of the 1996 batch, 22 years after their graduation. Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha play the roles of Ram and Jaanu, former lovers who separated only to meet again and address their unresolved separation issues. 96 is available for streaming Aha, along with SonyLIV, SunNXT, and OTTplay Premium.
96 is marks the directorial debut of Prem Kumar, who later remade the film in in Telugu as Jaanu, starring actors Sharwanand and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. 96 was critically acclaimed and the performances of the lead pair were praised upon its release. Govind Vasantha scored the music.

The upcoming film is backed by Suriya and Jyothika under 2D Entertainment banner. A release date for the film is yet to be announced. The cinematographer of the film is Mahendiran Jayaraju and Govind Vasantha has scored the music. Govindaraj has edited the film. Touted to be a family drama, the film is said to revolve around two friends who become arch enemies.
