Madhuri Dixit has appeared in over 80 films throughout her nearly four-decade-long career, and she will be making her first appearance on an OTT platform this Friday. In the Netflix series The Fame Game, the actor plays a Bollywood star who goes missing.
Madhuri, who made her acting debut with Rajshri Productions' play Abodh in 1984, went on to star in films like Tezaab, Beta, and Khalnayak, and even delivered major hits like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dil, Dil Toh Paagal Hai, and more.
During a recent interview with Film Companion, a fan asked Madhuri to select the role that meant the most to her. To which the actor replied that she has had a lot of different roles. Whether it was Beta or Mrityudand, Dil, or Raja with Sanjay Kapoor, also her co-star in The Fame Game, she was fortunate enough to receive those kinds of roles or Devdas, there are so many movies. It's difficult to choose just one, but she said Nisha from Hum Aapke Hain Koun is the one that comes closest to her.
In Sooraj Bharjatya's Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Madhuri plays the spunky and lovable Nisha. Salman Khan, Renuka Shahane, Mohnish Bahl, Anupam Kher, and others also star in the film. It remains one of the most popular Hindi films of all time and was nominated for 13 Filmfare Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Female Actor. Madhuri's costumes, hairstyles, and lines became all the rage after the release of the film.
Meanwhile, Madhuri plays Anamika, a film actress who goes missing in The Fame Game. The examination into her life reveals more secrets about her life that had previously been kept hidden.
Talking about why she said yes to the Netflix series, the actor said that Anamika Khanna drew her attention. There's a mystery here, but there's also a lot of emotional content. Everything revolves around her character's family and her relationships with everyone, including her mother, children, husband, and co-star. She was enthralled by the way these characters were written.
