Bipasha Basu was trending recently since the actress hinted at making an acting comeback. She hopes to be back with the help of OTT. Hours into the statement, John Abraham has clarified that even though his movies perform better digitally, he has no intentions of entering the world. Here's everything we know so far...
While talking to Hindustan Times, John Abraham admitted that he is not keen to explore OTT at this point of time, at least as an actor. "I want to come on the big screen. In my head, I believe I was made for the big screen," the actor confirmed. He cited the example of Paatal Lok and said that while he respects the OTT space, he doesn't see himself in it.
Although he hasn't completely shut his doors on OTT, John isn't too keen about opening it even as a producer. He simply said that he might take up a project with the intent to tell a good story but not with the intention of starting a business model. "To do OTT, you need a very big office setup. You need a lot of people working towards something, where you don't even own the IP of. You make a commission from the series and that goes into your overheads. Anybody who's doing OTT today, they'll tell you absolutely the same thing. So, I don't see sense in breaking sweat on doing these series," the actor explained.
Hours before John Abraham's statement, his rumoured ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu had hinted that she could make her acting comeback with OTT. Even though she said that she misses working in films, Bipasha felt that a lot of interesting work keeps happening in the OTT space. "Fingers crossed. We will do something," she said when asked about working in the OTT space, hinting that she could be looking at projects for her big comeback. While it would be her acting comeback or transitioning into another role still remains unclear.
