Varthur Santhosh was arrested by the forest department on Sunday, October 22, for possession of a real tiger claw pendant
Varthur Santhosh, one of the contestants on the ongoing Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10, was arrested on October 22 for possessing and wearing a tiger claw locket. Officials from the forest department are said to have reached the Bigg Boss Kannada house after receiving a complaint about the alleged possession and following a long inspection process, they were able to confirm that Santhosh had, indeed, broken the law.
Reportedly, the officials from the forest department arrested Varthur Santhosh for the violation of The Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972, which has been enabled to ensure the ecological and environmental security of the country.
Prior to his arrest, an FIR was filed against him based on the same complaint. According to India Today, the forest department authorities first took control of the said locket so as to conduct a proper procedure to confirm its authenticity. Once they established that, the Bigg Boss authorities were, in turn, asked to produce Varthur Santhosh who would confess that he purchased the tiger claw locket about three years ago from Hosur.
Who is Varthur Santhosh?
Although Santhosh isn't exactly what one might categorize as a celebrity, and nor does he have anything to do with show business, he is well-known in Karnataka as the breeder of the Hallikar breed of cattle. Varthur Santhosh also serves as the chairman of the All India Hallikar Breed Conservation Committee and is said to have worked extensively for the protection and care of animals, particularly cows.
Never in the history of Bigg Boss
While Bigg Boss has grown infamous over the years for the drama it generates through its contestants, one could safely that the show has outdone itself through Varthur Santhosh's arrest. There have been countless dramatic moments over the years, sure, but this would be the primary instance (including all regional versions of the format) that a contestant has been arrested while they were still inside the Bigg Boss premises.
