On Saturday, the first single from Challenging Star Darshan’s Kranti, will be released. The song, Dharani, composed by director V Harikrishna, will be launched by the actor’s fans in his presence in Mysuru. Ahead of the song launch, the team had released a sneak peek from it, wherein Darshan was seen sporting a white pinstripe suit.
Within moments, social media was abuzz with eagle-eyed netizens pointing out that the stylist was, most definitely inspired by KGF: Chapter 2. Images of Rocking Star Yash wearing the exact same suit paired with a black shirt, were circulated next to pictures of Darshan from the song. The only difference, they said, was that Darshan chose a blue waistcoat and white shirt combo with the suit. Some netizens found this similarity funny, adding that it signifies a KGF-Kranti crossover, with Darshan called in to teach Kannada to the children in Narachi. Yash was the unanimous winner in this ‘contest’ of who wore it better, they felt, what with Darshan still sporting a lot of the weight he’d gained during the lockdown in this song.
Kranti, meawhile, is set for release on January 26. The film is Darshan’s second collaboration with director-composer V Harikrishna and producer-duo Shylaja Nag and B Suresha. The film also reunites him with his Bulbul and Ambareesha co-star Rachita Ram. The actor has said that he plays an NRI, who returns to India to help save his alma mater, a government-run Kannada medium school. Although the film is set to get a pan-India release, Darshan has been categoric that he has made a Kannada movie and that he will promote the film only in Karnataka. In fact, when news broke about the subject of the film, it was highly debated as to how the team could sell it as a pan-India film.
